Charging point data regulation

Charging point data regulation

The Charging Point Data Ordinance was issued by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology on the basis of Section 4a (3) of the Federal Act on the Establishment of Uniform Standards for the Development of Infrastructure for Alternative Fuels.
  • Publication in the Federal Law Gazette: 24.9.2024
  • Entry into force: 25.9.2024

This ordinance regulates the reporting obligations of operators of publicly accessible charging points to E-Control, which publishes the respective data in the charging point directory.

The ordinance basically provides for three different types of reporting obligations (which also differ in terms of content):

·         Reporting obligations regarding the operator/owner,

·         site-specific reporting obligations and

Reporting obligations regarding the individual charging points.
